The Oregon Secretary of State’s Office has concluded its tenure as the affiliate organization for Oregon’s Kid Governor®. The Connecticut Democracy Center—the nonprofit that runs Kid Governor® nationally—has begun the process of identifying a successor organization to lead the program in Oregon as soon as possible. Rosie Lanenga of Portland, OR was elected by the 5th graders of her state to serve as the Oregon’s 2025 Kid Governor. Rosie’s one-year term in office is focused on her platform addressing climate change.

Unfortunately, due to federal government program cuts, the Oregon Secretary of State’s office will no longer be able to facilitate the Oregon Kid Governor Program. This is a valuable civic education resource for kids in Oregon, so we are working to find a new organization to run the Oregon Kid Governor Program in the future. If we are successful, an announcement will be sent out to everyone who signed up to receive updates about Oregon Kid Governor. If you would like to be added to the list sign up here.
